FAMILY DAY at the MUSEUM
Most people will be off MONDAY FEBRUARY 20th FOR ‘FAMILY DAY”
Rob and I will have an extra day to share. Why not bring the family to the SOUTHAMPTON MUSEUM to celebrate “HERITAGE DAY” from 10-4 It’s FREE. They have some great displays for the children. An opportunity to try spinning, woodworking, carving and much more. Go back to a time when crafts and hand-made were a learned skill.
We will have a display table of Heritage Food.

Dry Beans
Old varieties of corn, beans, squash that were grown years ago to eat and survive the winter. They have their original genetics and breed true year after year. There will be seeds for sale to regrow a taste from our past. We hope to inspire others to try growing fresh food from their backyard.
Rob might even bake some muffins or bread from an ancient grain grown locally here on our farm in Tara, Ontario. We have saved this seed and grown year after year. It is a high energy wheat where the gluten actually breaks down making it easier to digest. We use the kernels, soak and slow cook for breakfast. We will also bring some 5 lb. fresh stone ground flour . You will find you need less liquid in your recipe because it is so fresh and rich in natural oils.
